Freshpet and KARMA pet food launch new sustainability efforts

With a mix of sustainability-focused initiatives, pet food manufacturers Nature’s Fresh and KARMA are now assisting more than just furry pals. Both aimed to reduce plastic waste from pet food packaging through environmentally beneficial collaborations.

Freshpet’s parent firm aims to be 100% regeneratively sourced by 2025. Packaging is designed to minimise food waste by keeping food fresh and wholesome for up to 24 weeks. rePurpose Global gathers and eliminates an equal quantity of ocean-bound plastic garbage from nations with inadequate waste collection infrastructure for every package sold. Nature’s Fresh, an organic pet food brand, has also teamed with recycling company TerraCycle, which can recycle 100% of Freshpet’s packaging.
