McDonald’s reserved its 10 trademarks by registering in the virtual space of metaverse

McDonald’s has entered into the virtual space of metaverse by registering 10 trademarks. One of the trademark applications is for a virtual restaurant that offers both virtual and actual goods, and the other one is for a virtual restaurant, featuring online home delivery. The fast-food giant has booked trademarks for various downloadable files including audio, text, video files, artwork, and NFTs. McDonald’s has also listed its McCafé brand in its metaverse trade application and reserved rights for a brand that is filed in the metaverse for entertainment purposes like virtual concerts and events. Joining McDonald’s, an American bakery café chain, Panera Bread, has submitted the trademark application for a virtual restaurant and café chain named Paneraverse.
