PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay retains and engages drivers with the Plano programme

Frito-Lay’s apprenticeship programme, Plano, is designed to ensure high-quality training for new drivers and increase driver recruitment and retention. The Plano programme is in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Labour and the U.S. Department of Transportation. In addition, the truck drivers receive competitive salaries, sign-on bonuses, health insurance packages that begin on the first day of employment, 401k enrolment with employer match, and a pension benefit. Frito-Lay truck drivers also receive scholarship opportunities, education assistance for degree and vocational programs, and assistance for parents of college-bound students.
