In a world full of tech-savvy consumers, Unilever never fails to disappoint its consumers’ expectations. The CPG giant is testing a programme that allows consumers to have ice cream from Robomarts, instead of old-fashioned ice cream trucks. Robomarts are branded vans stocked with products from companies like Ben & Jerry’s, Breyers, Good Humor, Magnum ice cream, and Talenti, all under one virtual storefront named The Ice Cream Shop. Consumers can place their orders via Robomart’s proprietary app, which is a one-tap technology. Once the Robomart arrives at the doorstep, consumers can swipe their app to open the van’s door and enjoy ice cream without any physical card swiping at the checkout.
